Sodium Hydroxide is extremely hygroscopic, or water loving, a small bead will quickly swell up with atomospheric moisture and become a large droplet. Care must be taken in storing this product. We are offering this product in 32 ounce containers, or 2lb. sizes of Sodium Hydroxide. This is due to shipping and safety requirements. Packaging care must be taken to make sure that it is sealed and moisture free. Once you open the container you should take care to make sure no moisture is added. One way this happens is from temperature variation, if the room gets hot and then cold this can create condensation inside the container and cause your Sodium Hydroxide to turn into a water. Sodium Hydroxide must be stored in a temperature controlled environment.
Sodium Hydroxide is extremely corrosive, it can burn the skin. You must use caution when working with and/or handling this product.
Sodium Hydroxide has been used for years and years in the creation of bar type soaps and transparent bar soaps. So, have fun creating soap at To Die For price.
